Education & Training:
Dr. Jessie Johnston earned her doctoral degree in School Psychology at the University of Northern Colorado. She completed her internship at MiraCare Neurobehavioral Health in Chicago, where she provided therapy and conducted neuropsychological evaluations for children and their families, with a focus on neurodevelopmental disorders. She went on to complete her postdoctoral training at the Utah Center for Evidence Based Treatment, providing therapy and assessments across the lifespan.
My Approach:
In her practice, Jessie prioritizes creating a safe, affirming, and collaborative space for her clients. She takes a person-centered and holistic approach, integrating mind and body through modalities informed by polyvagal theory and somatic techniques. Jessie specializes in working with neurodivergent individuals and tailors evidence-based therapies (ACT, DBT, CBT) to meet each client’s unique needs.
Communication Style:
My communication style is laid-back, warm, and grounded in the belief that we are all human. I’ll meet you with validation and support, while also gently encouraging small shifts to help you move toward your goals.
Personal Life:
In her free time, Jessie likes to rock climb, mountain bike, and run. She also enjoys reading, and spending time with her family, friends, and her cat, Link.
